“The flying fortress is landing on Earth”– this is the way Moto Guzzi teases its new bagger.
MGX-21 bagger was revealed at EICMA and will see the tarmac at Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 2016. Until then we have some pictures and a bike to dream of. Considering the fact it will be a limited-edition model, the bike will be just a dream for many bagger fans.
Moto Guzzi MGX-21 has the classic bagger elements shaped in a Guzzi manner. The fairing’s shape follows the lines of the headlight while the dark, carbon-look hard cases are a great piece of style.
Under the carbon-fiber elements, we have the same cruiser platform we know from California. The MGX-21 flying fortress will have the 1,380 cc V2 that makes 96 hp@6,500 rpm and 120 Nm @2,750 rpm. It should be enough power to move the over 300 kg mass. But to stop it, Guzzi uses dual floating 320 mm discs and Brembo 4 piston calipers.
As for the electronics, MGX-21 will have a ride-by-wire throttle, three engine maps, three-level traction control and cruise control.
Behind the fairing, we can see an audio system, which is mandatory for such big tourers.
