The 701 Supermoto & Enduro will get 74 horsepower from the latest KTM single

The Austrian manufacturer aligns the 701 Supermoto and Enduro to Euro 4 Regulations. And that's not all. The engines that will equip the 701range is borrowed from the new KTM 690 Duke. This new generation single cylinder will produce more power and higher torque. We wonder if there is also a weight increase.

This new large displacement engine is refined with a balancing shaft to cut the high-rev vibrations that used to be characteristic for a KTM single. Husqvarna says that the typical thumper inertial vibrations will become history. The power will increase to 74 hp.

The 2016 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto I tested a few moths ago left me with a big smile on my face and a bit of hand numbness. It had 68 horsepower. So this addition, although unnecesarry will put an even bigger smile on my face.

We don’t have any clue about other changes, but Husqvarna ensures us that the new bike will be superior. We can’t wait to see the 2017 model at INTERMOT show.
