FILM | We tested the new K1600 Grand America – the BMW take on the American touring market
BMW K1600 Grand America is the touring version of the K1600B Bagger, featuring a big topcase and a high windscreen. Or you can say it’s a K1600GTL with a streamliner shape and a flamboyant colour – Austin Yellow – borrowed from the BMW M4 and shared with the F750GS.
It’s powered by the classic straight-six engine which is capable of 160 hp and 175 NM of torque. Full of electronics, comfortable and eye-catching, it seems to be a perfect motorcycle. But it’s not. And we found its weakness.
