2020 MotoGP: Dorna CEO statement on the Coronavirus 1

Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna CEO made a statement regarding the Coronavirus and updated 2020 MotoGP calendar. Here’s the latest press release.

“We are following instructions of the Governments of every country. We’ve been in close contact with authorities from Austin and Argentina and when they said we can’t do it, we talked to other GPs to accommodate the calendar and finally we did it. Now the calendar is if things continue as it is.

We aim to continue the Championship with all the races. If something is unpredictable, we follow the situation with all the Governments, especially with the promoters. We are in very close contact with the FIM, IRTA, the teams and with the promoters and we try to accommodate the things. At the moment we are doing that and we are in close contact with them”

We are talking with the authorities of Jerez. Everything is ok, but we will see what is the situation in the near future.

As I say also during all these days we are trying to do the things as normal as we can, but if conditions with the local authorities are for the races to be without the spectators we can consider together with the local promoter.

We are waiting to start as soon as possible, it is a little bit late from the normal days, but we can start with the schedule we have right now. Will be an exciting season.”
