Updated bodywork, Euro 5 compliant engine and up/down quickshifter as standard

The new Street Triple R comes with a new bodywork featured on the RS model while the engine has been updated to increase low and mid-range torque.

The 2020 Triumph Street Triple R receives the aggressive design details from the RS model. The updates include new bodywork, screen, air intake, side panels and rear unit.

The bike has new twin LED headlights, new mirrors with increased adjustability, a new silencer for the exhaust system and an LCD dash instead of the TFT fitted on last year’s model.

The inline-three 765cc engine has been updated and now it’s more responsive with a 7% reduction in rotational inertia helping to improve low and mid-range torque. The engine makes 118 hp @ 12,000rpm and a torque figure of 77 Nm @ 9,400rpm.

The bike has three riding modes – Road, Rain and Sport. Other features include the Triumph Shift Assist up/down quickshifter coming as a standard option, ride-by-wire, ABS and traction control.

Also, there are updates on to the airbox and exhaust system to make the new Street Triple R Euro 5 compliant. The gearbox has the specifications from the RS model with short first and second gear ratios which helps the bike to improve acceleration. The comfort level has been improved by fitting a slip and assist clutch.

The 2020 Triumph Street Triple R features an improved brake system with Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial monobloc front callipers while the rear is provided with a Brembo single piston sliding calliper.

The British engineers fitted a Showa upside down separate function big piston fork and a Showa piggyback reservoir monoshock RSU. Both are fully adjustable for preload, compression damping and rebound damping.

The gullwing swingarm features torsional stiffness and lateral flexibility and it’s fitted with an optimised pivot position for providing natural resistance to compressing the RSU under hard acceleration.

The new Street Triple R comes with all-weather Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres.

The 2020 Triumph Street Triple R has two new colour schemes – Sapphire Black and Matt Silver Ice. Both schemes feature Diablo Red and Aluminium Silver decals, hand-painted red wheel pinstripes and the signature Street Triple R red rear sub-frame. Triumph offers 60 + accessories to tailor the motorcycle to the rider’s preferences.

The motorcycle is more accessible for 2020 with a lower price tag compared to last year. The 2020 Street Triple R costs €10,564 (the 2019 model was €11,000).
