Aprilia put the covers off its latest supernaked motorcycle, the Aprilia Tuono V4 X. It features MotoGP-inspired wings, carbon fiber components while the engine delivers 221 hp (165 kW). The Noale engineers also shredded some weight off the bike as this limited edition, track-only bike weights 166 kg (366 lbs).
The Aprilia Tuono V4 received some major upgrades as the Noale squad designed this super naked motorcycle to shred some rubber on the track. The motorcycle was built by the Aprilia Racing Department which is the same group that designs the brand’s MotoGP bikes, namely the Aprilia RS-GP machine. Moreover, the bike is similar to the Aprilia RSV4 X launched last year and was developed as a limited edition and track only bike.
Aprilia Tuono V4 X is fitted with the 1,077cc V4 engine, but this time, the power unit was tweaked and now makes 221 hp (165 kW) which is a huge leap over the 175 hp (129 kW) of the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory version. The engine was wedged into the frame and the engineers decided to use carbon fiber components to save as much weight as possible. Thus, the super naked motorcycle has a carbon fiber front fairing featuring a biplane winglet design while the other carbon fiber components managed to drop the weight by 18 kg (40 lbs) to a total dry weight of 166 kg (366 lbs).
Completing the package is a full-titanium Akrapovic exhaust with a carbon fiber muffler, a Spring air filter while the electronics package was race-tuned. So, the Tuono V4 X is equipped with a track configuration including a new dash layout. Furthermore, the levers are built from billet aluminium and there’s a pod of racing buttons on each handlebar.
Other features include an Öhlins semi-active electronic suspension and an up/down quickshifter. The braking system is provided by Brembo GP4-MS calipers, mated to Brembo T-Drive discs and a 19x16mm Brembo master cylinder. Also, the Aprilia Tuono V4 X comes with Marchesini wheels, in forged magnesium and Pirelli Superbike slick tires.
To make the super naked motorcycle stand out even more, Aprilia used a retro color scheme, namely the “Bol d’Or” livery used by the brand in the 2006 endurance race on the Aprilia RSV1000R Factory.
Aprilia Tuono V4 X is a limited edition, track-only motorcycle and only 10 units will be available at a price tag of €34,900, plus taxes ($41,500).
