SC-Project unveiled a new exhaust system for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. It’s called X-Plorer II and it’s manufactured from titanium and features a carbon fiber end cap. Also, it’s lighter with two kilograms than the stock exhaust.
SC-Project launched two new silencers and a complete new exhaust system for the 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin adventure motorcycle. SC-Project X-Plorer II is Euro5 compliant and is built using titanium and features a new adjustable opening valve which is mounted before the silencer. This adjustable opening valve is controlled with the standard Honda Africa Twin 1100 electronics. Therefore, there’s no need for new adjustments.
The Honda Africa Twin 1100 performance has been enhanced regarding the torque which now is delivered smother throughout the rev range thanks to the oval-shaped outlet designed to increase the volume of gas received by the exhaust system. Moreover, the SC-Project X-Plorer II is lighter compared to the stock exhaust system reducing the weight from 5.5 to 3.5 kg.
The manufacturing process includes titanium and Aisi304 stainless steel components which are welded to T.I.G. The insert bushings are made using CNC machinery. The muffler and the exhaust valve system feature a large carbon fiber cover built in an autoclave.
How much does it cost? Well, for this two-kilogram weight drop, the SC-Project X-Plorer II will set you back €870. The company offers a complete Rally Raid line which includes a titanium manifold designed for extreme off-road use. The Rally Raid version weighs six kilograms and is made entirely of titanium. Of course, it’s not road legal, so the SC-Project X-Plorer II Rally Raid version can be used only for off-road riding.
