Louis Vuitton leather, Cartier timepiece, only ten units and a hefty price tag
The full name of this vintage bike is BMW R7 85th Anniversary Commemoration Limited Edition. It’s built by custom bike designer Alex Niznik of NMoto – a custom workshop based in Florida, USA. The base model is a 1934 BMW R7 and this exclusive model is a limited edition of just ten units. The price tag sits at $250,000.
The idea of building such a motorcycle is not new for Niznik as the bike builder and founder of NMoto created last year the BMW Nostalgia – a custom classic bike paying tribute to the BMW R7 of the ‘30s.
Now, he created a limited edition of that bike to commemorate 85 years of heritage. Each motorcycle takes 4,000 hours of work to complete and the whole process takes over a year for NMoto to manufacture the 150 custom components needed to assemble this vintage motorcycle.
Moreover, the custom workshop offers each owner the possibility to tailor his bike according to his needs. So, the owners can personalize components such as leather, gauges, timepiece, cylinder heads and panels engraving. The cylinder covers are milled from billet, the side panels, fenders, and the top cover are made from platinum and have pink gold trim. The rims are gold plated, while the saddle is covered with Louis Vuitton leather. Furthermore, a Cartier timepiece is fitted into the fuel tank. Other components include a traditional kick starter and hand shift. It’s like creating a piece of jewellery.
From a technical side, the BMW R7 features an R nineT 1,170cc air-cooled boxer engine making 110 hp and 116 Nm of torque. The drivetrain is also from an R nineT model. Niznik says that the engine has no performance enhancements. Moreover, the BMW R7 was fitted with a modern Brembo braking system.
