Going on a New Adventure. Africa Twin in Central Asia

Going on a New Adventure. Africa Twin in Central Asia 1

It’s time for a new Adventure. After the

“>Road of Bones and the South America Ride, i’m going back to Central Asia. This time, it’s the Pamir Highway. And a new bike: the Africa Twin.

I’ll start my journey on 7th of July – the date of my arrival to Bishkek. The bike will be waiting for me there, since I had no time to ride it all the way – it would take at least two months to do the whole trip. So I shipped the Africa Twin and all I have to do now is to get there by plane.

I’m planning to do about 4,000 kilometers, starting from Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), passing through the famous Pamir Highway to Tajikistan and crossing the Wakhan corridor at the Afghanistan border. Also, I don’t want to miss the Seven Lakes in Tajikistan – I heard it’s a must-see.

In this adventure I’ll ride Honda’s Africa Twin (DCT Gearbox). The luggage will consist of the original panniers, a roll-bag for the passenger seat and a tank bag for my photo camera. I equipped the bike with Metzeler Karoo 3 tires and put some Michelin Heavy-Duty enduro inner tubes. I don’t feel comfortable having tube-type tires, especially because the bike doesn’t come fitted with a centre-stand. So I hope I wont get a tire puncture.

I’ll be gone for a month, but I’ll post as much as I can: photos, road-book stories, short movies. You can find them here and on our Instagram account. More than that, I’ll come up with some special films from this trip, so subscribe to our YouTube channel.
