Harley-Davidson announced the pricing and some specs of his brand new electric motorcycle – the Livewire. It can be ordered online for $29,799 – first in the USA and Wester Europe. Besides the price, Harley-Davidson also released other important features such as the range. The announcemend was made today at CES in Las Vegas.
The range – probably the most important thing when it comes to electric motorcycle is estimated at 110 miles – 177 km. There are three charging solutions:
– Level 1 (standard household outlet): 13 miles range per hour of charged.
– Level 2: LiveWire can be connected to a Level 2 charge unit but will be charged at the Level 1 rate.

The Harley-Davidson Livewire comes with a 0-60 mph acceleration of 3.5 seconds. This performance is similar to a middleweight inline-four bike such as the Honda CBR600F, or the Triumph Rocket III.
The Livewire offers a connectivity service which is called H-D Connect Service – you can connect remotely through your smartphone, check bike battery, see the location on the map, see if it’s been bumped or moved. The H-D Connect will be free of charge for the first year, but after that there will be a subscription fee.
The Harley-Davidson Livewire will feature three color options – Yellow Fuse, Orange Fuse and vivid black.
The engine is located below the battery to lower the centre of gravity and the frame is made of aluminium. The suspension is provided by Showa and it’s fully adjustable and the Michelin tires 180 mm rear and 120 mm front were designed by Michelin for this bike.
The 10.9 cm full-color dash can show you the music, turn-by-turn navigation and more. Of course, Harley-Davidson provides a lot of accessories for the new Livewire.
