Kawasaki to unveil a Supercharged Z. Is it a Naked H2R?
Fancy a 200 hp Kawasaki Z1000?
Kawasaki teases a Supercharged “Z” motorcycle for 2020. The teaser appeared on the Kawasaki Motors YouTube Channel and here’s the title: Supercharged Breaking News: More Kawasaki major news arrives soon - Feel the Force.
We don’t know how to interpret the Kawasaki teaser besides thinking about a supercharged naked bike. That’s simple. But is it a 200 hp Z1000? Or a middleweight Z750? Or maybe the small Z400? Is it Ninja H2 without fairings or are we going to see the supercharger technology mounted on a Z1000 engine?
It’s been five years since Kawasaki introduced the present-day Z1000 and it feels quite old now. A new supercharged Z1000 could get Kawasaki next to the super-naked top-players such as the upcoming Ducati Streetfighter V4, KTM SuperDuke, BMW S1000R, and Aprilia Tuono.
Nothing definite so far, but we’ll have the answer at this year’s EICMA in November.
