KTM Stops Factory Production in Austria Over Coronavirus

KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas factories will be closed for two weeks

The decision has been made by the Pierer AG group, the parent company of KTM. This measure comes due to the interruption in the supply chain from northern Italy, a region heavily affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.

KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas are the first brands in the motorcycle industry that had to close their factory production line. This measure was enforced by the Pierer AG group which is the parent company of the three bike brands. So, all Austrian factories will be closed for two weeks from March 30 to April 10.

The Pierer AG group stated that this situation doesn’t affect the worldwide distribution and the supply of spare parts. Furthermore, they guarantee that all models will be available for purchase in the dealership network.
