Power output could be around 95hp
After unveiling the Tuono 660 Concept at EICMA last year alongside the RS660 sportbike, Aprilia looks set to develop the mid-weight naked as a production model. According to VisorDown, the engine could be making 95hp. These details of the power figure are not surprising taking into count that Aprilia announced the same output for an A2 version of the RS660 model.
The official debut for the Aprilia was set to take place in May at the Mugello track and unfortunately, the current lockdown put on hold that event. So, now new details emerge regarding the Tuono 660. Specifically about the engine which could be a 660cc parallel-twin making 95 hp. Moreover, the chassis, suspension, frame, brakes and swingarm are believed to be the same ones fitted on the middle naked’s sportbike brother the RS660.
The electronics package could also be similar to the RS660 and if that leaked info is true this should put the Tuono 660 in the upper class of the middleweight naked segment alongside rivals like the Triumph Street Triple RS and KTM 790 Duke.
Furthermore, the Italian naked bike could also feature cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, up and down quick-shifter, engine braking control, three road riding modes, two-track riding modes and cruise control.
All that sounds great and we could expect to see the Aprilia Tuono 660 in production form at this year’s EICMA show in Milan.
