The 2019 Super Duke Sports Tourer gets the new-headlight treatment
KTM is working on an update for its 1290 Super Duke GT Sports Touring motorcycle. After revamping the roadster, it was about the time for a new GT version.
The first, and most obvious change is the updated headlight. The GT was among the only ones that didn’t feature the new LED headlight. Meanwhile, it keeps the cornering lights. There’s a new fairing shape, to accommodate the headlight, a new windscreen, and behind the windscreen – a new TFT dash for a better interaction between the rider and the machine.
As for the electronics, the new 1290 Super Duke GT will probably have the same specs as the R version.
The frame and engine seem to be the same, though the guys at MCN – who published the photos – say that it might be Euro 5 compliant, since the new emission and sound regulation will be available from 2020 on.
The 1290 Super Duke GT in the spy photos seems production-ready, and we’ll probably see it in late 2018 at one of the next year’s motorcycle shows – EICMA and Intermot. It should be available on the market as a 2019 model.
