Bimota announced that the Tesi H2 model is available starting from October. Also, the official tech specs reveal a power output of 242 hp (178 kW) with Ram Air. Of course, there’s a price to pay for such an exclusive model – €64,000.
A couple of photos reveal the production version of the Bimota Tesi H2. The Italian hyperbike was presented last year at EICMA as a concept bike after Kawasaki Heavy Industries acquired a 49% stake of Bimota and became the main owner of the brand. After that, a bunch of all-black prototypes of the Bimota Tesi H2 were spotted during some tests as the motorcycle was in full development to reach production form. Now, the Italian brand reveals the first official photos, the full spec, official price and delivery dates of the production-ready Bimota Tesi H2.
The bike is pretty much the same as the concept model featuring pretty much the same fairing design, winglets, geometric central headlight, hub-centre steering and huge exhaust system. But, this time around, the white, black and red colours were replaced with a black livery with the Italian Tricolore fitted on the fairings.
The Bimota Tesi H2 is built around the Kawasaki Ninja H2 power plant and features the iconic Bimota hub-center steering design chassis covered with a carbon fiber bodywork. The 998cc supercharged inline-four makes 231 hp (170 kW) at 11,500 rpm and with Ram Air the power figure goes up to 242 hp (178 kW) at 11,500 rpm. The maxim torque level is set at 141 Nm at 11,000 rpm. Although the Euro 5 regulations are enforced on all new bikes starting from 1st of January 2021, the Bimota Tesi H2 features a Euro 4 engine. The power figures match the figures of the Kawasaki Ninja H2 but are less then what the track-only Ninja H2R version offers – 310 hp (228 kW) at 14,000 rpm and 326 hp (240 kW) at 14,000 rpm with Ram Air.
Everything fitted on the Bimota Tesi H2 which is required to homologate the bike for street use (including turn signals, emissions, etc) are borrowed from Kawasaki with Bimota adding its hub-center steering design that should enhance the handling characteristics of the bike, different carbon-fibre components and premium parts that make this motorcycle and exclusive and exotic model. By doing so, it was easier for Bimota to prepare the Tesi H2 for street use and to arrive quite quickly on the motorcycle market.
The Bimota Tesi H2 is the first model that the Italian brand launched to showcase its partnership with Kawasaki and pre-sales are underway as the hyperbike is set to begin production from October 1st. Bimota Tesi H2 is a limited edition model and the company will only build 250 units featuring a unique tag and frame number at a price tag of €64,000.
The Bimota Tesi H2 is the first model in a new lineup of models that the company will launch with a second model from Bimota will soon be unveiled – a cafe racer sports bike named the KB4 which is based on the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.
