The French deliver the second Suzuki SV650 Scrambler

Suzuki France delivers a new impersonation of their scramblerized SV650 in collaboration with SW-Motech.

The truth is that the SV650 is a bit far from what we’d usually acknowledge as a traditional scrambler, but this new attire looks appealing and introduces a mellow, neo-retro vibe. The exposed trellis frame really helps a lot in this direction, and the Dunlop Mutant dual sport tires are also a great match.

Basically, the SV650 is largely unchanged, but the addition of SW-Motech parts help transform the looks of this bike a bit. Now, no sensible scrambler enthusiast will ever take this for a proper mud and gravel machine with actual retro ancestry, but it’s totally okay. SW-Motech supplied a miniature aluminium flyscreen and a style-correct small front mudguard made from the same material.

Radiator guards are present on each side of the cooling element, and so are the fairly generous hand guards. Suzuki France also replaced the foot rests with larger ones. The rubber inserts are removable, allowing riders to use the medium spikes for aggressive riding. The handlebars are also new, taller and wider, to provide extra maneuvrability, albeit riding an SV650 while standing does seem a bit awkward.

A grille for the round headlight is also on the list, as well as the retro ribbed seat. Suzuki threw in a quick-detach soft pannier system with waterproof liner bags for travel purposes, but they can be removed easily for gravel hooliganism. A skid plate would have been even nicer, if you ask us.

The Suzuki SV650 Scrambler 2.0 comprises add-ons that retail for around €2,000, but the price tag of this bike reads a rather appealing €7,999. Not sure if it will be available in France only or international orders can be placed, though.
