Voltu uncovered the Rod 1 which comes with a different view of what an electric motorcycle should be. It can be used as a stationary battery pack when it isn’t being ridden. The Rod 1 features 150 hp and 150 miles of range when it’s used on country roads. Would you buy one?
The Voltu Rod 1 has been revealed at the International Motorcycle Exhibition in Munich. The naked electric motorcycle has been developed on the Moto X prototype platform and features an electric engine making 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The power helps the Rod 1 reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 kph).
The Rod 1’s electric engine is powered by a 20kW water-cooled battery which offers a range up to 250 miles (400 kilometres) when the electric motorcycle is used in the city. The numbers don’t stop here, the range when it’s used on country roads is 150 miles (250 kilometres).
The electric motorcycle comes with a steel trellis frame and swingarm. Also, it features wide handlebars and a TFT dash. Suspension wise, the front is fitted with a USD forks and the rear has a monoshock. The braking system is provided by Brembo – two discs with four-piston callipers for the front.
It’s fitted with a quick charger that can charge the battery to 50% in 15 minutes. In 30 minutes of fast charging will increase the battery’s power to 85%. The Voltu Rod 1 can be used as a stationary battery pack when it isn’t being ridden. Nice feature!
The Voltu Rod 1 is set to be available for the end of 2020 and we can’t wait to find out more details and especially the price tag.
