Aprilia RS660 Revealed in the First Promo Video 1

Aprilia RS660 is finally here and the motorcycle can be viewed in full thanks to this official promo video from the Noale brand. As the video shows, it looks like the sportbike has been designed to offer comfort rather than being a track day bike.

Since 2018, Aprilia has been teasing us with the RS660 concept bike. As you probably know by now, the motorcycle will reach production …… and as much as Aprilia revealed a couple of details and the bike has been spotted on the streets, a video with the RS660 in action was missing. But not no more, as we can see the Aprilia RS660 in all its glory tackling some corners.

Aprilia RS660 could mark a new beginning for the company as it enters the sportbike segment with a new engine platform –  a parallel twin-cylinder 660cc engine making 100 hp. In other words, the power unit seems to be an RSV41100 engine, cut it in half. Also, it will fit for A2 licence riders as Aprilia will offer the possibility to downgrade the engine output to 95 hp.

Looking at the promo video, we can spot a new TFT dash showing the riding modes and settings which appear to be adjusted with the help of a four-button layout on the left handlebar. Other new features are the bars which look like they are mounted higher compared to a standard sport-oriented bike – around 20mm above the yoke. This means that Aprilia focused more on offering road comfort rather than making the RS660 a track day bike. Furthermore, another aspect which gives a clue about comfort while riding is the tall and wide windscreen that can offer wind protection on long trips.

The Aprilia RS660 should have made its debut this year on May 9 in Italy at the Aprilia Festival, but unfortunately, the COVID-19 restrictions put those plans on hold. Thus, we could expect an official launch next year. Until then, the Noale brand is offering pre-booking for the RS660 starting this October.
