Ducati unveiled the Panigale R in its final shape. A collector’s item

With a V4 superbike under development and expected to be revealed soon, it’s about time to say good-bye to the Panigale, as we know it. Ducati does it in style, with this gorgeous final edition.

Ducati unveiled the Panigale R final edition as a “tribute to the twin cylinder engine”. “Ducati celebrates the twin cylinder engine that marked the history of the Superbike World Championship. From Marco Lucchinelli’s first victory with the 851 in 1988 at the first race in the history of the World Superbike Championship, to 2017 with the victories of Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri on the Panigale R.”

The Final Edition Superquadro engine is derived from the 1299 Superleggera engine with 209 hp at 11,000 rpm and 14.5 kgm at 9,000 rpm. Thanks its 168 kg dry weight, the Final Edition achieves a power to weight ratio of 1.24 hp/kg. More than that, it features an Akrapovic double under-seat exhaust system completely made of titanium (Euro 4 approved) derived from the WSBK racing Panigales.

The Panigale R final edition is also equipped with the Bosch IMU which provides cornering ABS and racing traction control. No clue about the price yet.
