Moto Guzzi V85. Adventure-Style Classic

Moto Guzzi V85. Adventure-style Classic 1

A head-turning retro-enduro motorcycle powered by the iconic Guzzi V-Twin

I saw it for the first time at the EICMA. The Moto Guzzi V85 was in a desert-style setting, on its centre-stand, next to a camel, a bivouac and some palm trees. Still, you need more than a beak and some hand-guards to travel through the desert, so the guys at Moto Guzzi say that the suspension will feature enough travel for off-road use and a solid construction. Otherwise, it will be just an enduro-themed retro bike, just as the BMW R nineT Urban GS.

The seat seems comfortable enough for touring and those 80 hp derived from the air-cooled V-Twin seem good enough for a relaxed pace.

The bike was unveiled in Milan as a Concept and it’s a completely new project. It is powered by a 80 hp air-cooled new 850 cc V-Twin engine.

There’s also a new tubular steel frame and the engine is a stressed member.

The suspension is provided by Ohlins and the rear shock is mounted on the right side of the bike, on the asymmetric swinging arm, while the high exhaust is on the left side.

The Guzzi V85 also features spoked wheels (19 inch front) and a new shaft drive transmission.

Featuring passenger foot-pegs, turning signals and number plate, it seems that Guzzi built this bike having a production model in mind, but there’s no official information regarding the date.

And there should be a specific date, because Moto Guzzi launched a marketing campaign which includes a name finding – they are asking the fans to contribute to find the name of the bike.
