Best Commuter Motorcycles Money can Buy 1

They are reasonably priced, comfortable and they come with good fuel economy. Here are the best practical bikes you can buy.

We’re in love with the Akrapovic sound. We’re fascinated by fancy electronics. We want to rule over as many horsepower as Genghis Khan had in his herd. But it’s not all about power and carbon-fiber chassis. Some of us just want an honest bike, capable of wandering around the city.

Honda NC750X [NC700X] – €6,990 [$7,500]

Honda’s NC750X is the definition of practicality. It comes with the best fuel economy in its class, and it has a luggage space right in the place you might think you’ll find the fuel tank. Oh, wait. It also comes with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The upright stance gives you a commanding and comfortable riding position in traffic, and the wind protection allows you to use it on colder days.

Although it’s not the most engaging motorcycle to ride, this is the best of the bunch when it comes to practicality.

Yamaha Tracer 700 – €7,999

The Tracer 700 [MT-07 Tracer] is based on Yamaha’s very popular MT-07 [FZ-07] naked. But it’s way more practical: a larger fuel tank, some fairings, and an upright riding position. Besides being practical, you can have a lot of fun with this one, due to its power to weight ratio – 75 horsepower and 196 kg [432 lbs]. It’s not as practical as an NC750X, but it’s the sportiest in our list.

Kawasaki Vulcan S – €7,999 [$7,399]

So, you want an allrounder, but you’d like something… different. Try the Kawasaki Vulcan S. Although it looks like a cruiser, this is just a laid-back position ER-6n. It’s not a V-Twin. It has the same parallel twin engine as the naked, and it comes with a reasonable price. It’s the least practical of the bunch, but it’s the most friendly and affordable cruiser-like motorcycle.
