Top 5 used track day bikes ‒ 600 cc 1

Can you hit the track with $3,000 to spend? Forget about those new and shiny R1s, S1000RRs, and Panigales. Here’s the cheapest way for 100% adrenaline.

Feel like going on track but you can't afford the latest models? Well, there is always a choice. The super sport bike market is filled with affordable second-hand motorcycles that will do the job.

If you are a beginner, you don’t need the most powerful and full of electronics bike, you rather want a motorcycle that will help you to learn the basics. Here are some things that you need to know when looking for a 600 cc engine from the last decade: you need a lightweight motorcycle with a fuel injection engine which is simple to ride and has a low-cost maintenance. A lot of old superbikes can fulfil these requirements, but here are our choices:

1 Honda CBR 600 RR 2003-2006

The CBR 600 RR is very versatile and docile engine and will forgive your rookie mistakes giving you the chance to experience a smooth response in gas. Sharp brakes, lightweight frame, full settings suspension are its biggest assets. The position keeps you tight in the saddle making it easy to hang off in the corner. Choose an upside-down fork, if possible.

 2 Yamaha YZF R6 2002-2006

The R6 offered the biggest amount of power in its class back in 2002. The acceleration has a brutal response. It’s a motorcycle with outstanding suspensions, but a little heavier than the CBR. This old YZF goes in corners with pinpoint accuracy. The bike still has something to say between the new bikes.

 3. Suzuki GSX-R 600 2001-2006

Suzuki made the GSX-R a robust motorcycle, wider than the Honda and Yamaha. The gas tank seems huge at first sight, but this is not a disadvantage. Rider position is very compact. The engine has a good response at high revs.

 4. Kawasaki Ninja ZX6 2003-2004

The Ninja is the all-time stunt era choice, but it also fits the track. The engine has a great mid-range power. The suspension is upside down with large area of settings. The lightweight frame and suspension give this bike a track advantage. Unfortunately, it’s an underrated motorcycle, but you can trust it.
