Ever thought you can use your EV to power up your house?
The Canadian brand Damon Motorcycles launched the Hypersport electric motorcycle back in February 2020. The bike was an immediate success for the brand as all the 25 units available were sold out in the first four days. Now, more news pop up as the Damon Hypersport electric motorcycle can be used as a generator which can provide back-up power to your home if necessary.
The bike is fitted with state of the art technology including a Vehicle-To-Home (V2H) feature which allows the 21kW battery pack to act as a generator, thus the electric motorcycle can supply sufficient energy to power up a house in case of a blackout for example.
According to Electrek, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates the average US home energy consumption is approximately 30kWh per day. So, Damon Hypersport could power everything in your home for almost half a day.
Moreover, the electric motorcycle’s performance is quite amazing. It packs a power unit which can deliver 214 hp (160kW) and push the Damon Hypersport to a top speed of 200 mph ((322 kph). Also, the range is 200 miles (320 km) and the time to fully charge the battery at a Level 2 station takes under three hours. To make it more interesting, the electric motorcycles features 360-degree radar assistance technology to provide riders with a view of what is happening around them.
While being a sales success in North America, Damon plans to launch the bike on the European motorcycle market as well.

Of course, everything comes with a cost and Damon Motorcycles offers the Hypersport HS version at a price tag, on the US motorcycle market, of $25,000 while the limited edition Hypersport Premier model will set you back $40,000.
