Honda Monkey will be discontinued according to some reports from Japan. There’s no international press release regarding this matter, however the nippon.com website is quoting the Jiji Press Agency and writes that Honda will cease the production in August.
The reason? It seems that the domestic market for small displacement motorcycle and scooters is shrinking and it’s very difficult to keep up with the tighter emission regulation.
This bad news for the Monkey fans comes just after Honda revealed a 50th anniversary edition – painted in Magna red, just as the original 1964 Z50M, featuring an anniversary logo and a 3D emblem on the tank. It was built in 1,800 units, for Japan only.
