HJC released a new DC Comics inspired helmet – RPHA 11 Pro Joker. The most notorious villain of Gotham city is the livery for the brand’s latest model. The motorcycle helmet features a fiberglass composite shell, an aerodynamic design which was tested in the wind tunnel and last but not least, a lot of Joker’s iconic trademarks.
If you don’t know by now who the Joker character is, we can tell you that is one of the most notorious DC Super-Villains of all time. Basically, the Joker started as a comic book character and became an icon as a cartoon and motion picture villain. What makes him so popular is his sinister smile, electric green hair, haunting laugh and for being Batman’s most fierce enemy. Thus, the character is a good inspiration for a great helmet livery.
In this case, we’re talking about the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Joker. The Korean company owns the rights to use DC Comics characters to decorate its helmets. This is not the first time we see a comic book character featured on one of the brand’s helmets as before this model we saw characters like Captain America, Iron Man, Spiderman, and even Batman.
It was designed for road and track use thanks to its aerodynamic shell structure composed of HJC’s Premium Integrated Matrix (P.I.M. Plus) shell material. This feature improves the helmet’s shock-resistance and helps the helmet save some weight.
HJC paid a lot of attention to this helmet as they designed the RPHA 11 Pro Joker considering the helmet’s anatomy. It stands out mostly when the rider’s head is tilted forward pointing out the menacing look of the villain’s eyes. Moreover, if you lift the visor, the oversized smile on the chin bar gives the rider a cheeky grin. And that’s not all. At the back of the Joker helmet, HJC designed a series of cartoonish “Ha Ha Ha” motifs which are a Joker signature, sort of speak, and also a Joker playing card to complete the livery.
HJC RPHA 11 Pro Joker features a fiberglass composite shell, an aerodynamic design which was tested in the wind tunnel, two air vents, and two air curtains at the front combined with four extractors at the back of the head. Other features include a chin curtain, an HJ-26 anti-fog shield with a quick-release mechanism, and an emergency pad release system. To offer comfort, HJC manufactured the lining using a MultiCool Interior advanced anti-bacteria fabric. Of course, the liner and the pads can be removed and washed.
Nonetheless, the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Joker DC Comics helmet is DOT and ECE 22.05 certified. It’s available in three shell sizes from XS to XXL, has a five-year warranty while the price tag is set for €584 in Europe, but you can get it at a 5% discount which lowers the price to €555. It looks like the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Batman helmet now has a nemesis.
