Triumph Speed Triple Video Teaser

The guys at Triumph are preparing a new a refreshed Speed Triple. The video teaser features racing legend Cal Fogarty and TT winner Gary Jhonson on the saddle of what seems to be a revamped Speed Triple. The headlines of the teaser are: the most powerful, the smartest, the most agile and the most aggressive in the fight for the Ultimate Hooligan title. We will find out for sure on 29th of January 2018 at 8AM.

The iconic Triumph model was launched 24 years ago and the latest update was in 2016. From the video we’ve learned that the new Speed Triple comes fitted with new wheels, a new exhaust, a new TFT dash and probably a refurbished engine.

We expect two derivations from the Speed Triple, an R version and an RS. The R version that will come with Ohlins suspension and carbon fibre bits and the RS that will feature Brembo callipers and all the extras on the R version.

The bikes in the video seem to be top spec version fitted with Arrow exhaust mufflers and the TFT dash borrowed from the Triumph Street Triple. The main rivals for the new Speed triple are the BMW S1000R, the Ducati Monster 1200, the Yamaha MT-10 and the KTM Super Duke, Kawasaki Z1000R, the Suzuki GSX-S1000, the MV Agusta Brutale 1090RR and the benchmark in the super naked segment the Aprilia RSV Tuono V4 1100.
