KTM is planning to build a customer version of its RC16 GP Prototype.
KTM RC16 will be available on the market as a 2018 track-day motorcycle. Only 100 units will be built and the price will be over the $100K mark.
The information was revealed by KTM CEO Stefan Pierrer in an interview published by Speedweek German magazine.
KTM hopes to build at least 100 units and the bike will be as close to the GP prototype as possible, according to Pierrer. It probably won’t share the same supersonic 270 horsepower, but we’re expecting to see some 240 hp from the V4 engine and a featherlight weight.
The KTM official also said that the customer RC16 must be cheaper than Honda’s RC213V-S – somewhere between €100,000 and €120,000 in order to make the machine more “affordable.”
